By using 2U you agree to these terms. If you do not, please do not use it.
Who can use 2U
You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter a contract. One account per phone number. The account is yours; do not let someone else use it.
How 2U works
You sign in with your phone number and a code sent on WhatsApp. We give you a random pseudonym, and you choose 👨 or 👩 once — it cannot be changed later, so choose truthfully. That pseudonym and that emoji are all anyone you talk to will see.
"Talk to someone" pairs you only with people in your contacts, filtered by Women, Men or Anyone: first a contact already on 2U, then — if none is free — one of your contacts who isn't on 2U yet, who receives one WhatsApp invitation. A chat is labelled "In your contacts" or "Has your number", but neither person is told who the other is. If no contact fits, you wait in line.
Chats are text and emoji only. Photos, files, voice notes and links are not accepted. Either person can end a chat at any time.
What you agree not to do
- Harass, threaten, abuse, defraud or send sexual content to anyone who has not asked for it.
- Use 2U to sell, advertise or spam, or to move people to another service against their wishes.
- Pretend to be someone else, or pick a gender that is not yours to get around the filter.
- Share another person's private information without their consent.
- Use 2U if you are under 18, or talk to anyone you believe is under 18.
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or automate the service.
- Use 2U where doing so breaks your local law.
We can suspend or remove an account that does any of this.
Blocking, reporting and moderation
Blocking someone ends the chat and means you are never paired with them again. Reporting a chat ends it, blocks the other person and sends the chat to our team for review. To review a report, our team reads the messages in that chat. We may act on reports at our discretion, including removing accounts.
Other people
We do not verify who anyone is. A chat labelled "In your contacts" only means a number matched — the person could be anyone who has that number, and someone who claims to know you, or says who they are, may not be who they say. What another user tells you may not be true. Do not send money, and take real care before sharing anything that identifies you or meeting anyone in person. We are not responsible for what another user does.
Price
2U is free. There are no payments, subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Availability
2U is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, and we may change or withdraw features. WhatsApp delivery depends on Meta and is outside our control.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for anything another user says or does. Because 2U is free, our total liability to you for any claim connected with it is limited to ₹1,000.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from the You tab in the app; see the Privacy Policy for what that erases. We can end your access if you break these terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction.
